New owner here. just got a new 2020 Ecopsport SE 4 wd version. I want to buy wheels and snow tires from Tire Rack. They offer TPM's for another 100 bucks. Now the TPM issue? Will they self program themselves?. I looked all over the web on just Ford in general not specific to the Ecosport. I see some Fords can be programed by hitting ignition button then 4 way flashers 3 times then let air out of each tire starting from driver front tire and horn beeps and programs tpm. Then some but not all say you need this program tool For Ford TPMS Reset Sensor Programming Training Reset Tool Tire Pressure Mointor | eBay

No idea what I will need or just forget TPM's on snow tires. My last car I had no tmp's on snow tires.

Somebody must have put snow tires and after market wheels on there Ecosport. I cant be the first.

Tire Rack said the TPM will program themselves all you have to do is drive the car. Will see if that is true when I get to mounting the snows in middle of November.
The winter tires for my wife's ecosport are stored at and installed by the dealer, I just figured they read the codes and program them in at install. I'll be curious to see if the car does self learn them after your installation in November.
What I did for my Toyota is, I bought a set of programmable tpms sensors on amazon, and I cloned the sensor IDs from my summers.

Good luck with that... Let us know if it ends up being true. That wouldn't be the case with our 2018 Ecosports. We put our winter tires on separate rims and skip the TPMS on those. It's easier for us just to check the tire pressure from time to time rather than reprogramming TPMS twice a year.
I just had a tire pressure indicator come on and filled the tire with air. The book says you have to drive two miles for a reset to occur. We shall see.....

Not my wife's Ecosport but my 2006 Mustang, my 2008 Mercury Milan, my 2010 Lincoln MKZ, my 2014 Ford Escape, my 2017 Lincoln MKC, and now my 2019 Ford Edge. On all these vehicles I had the summer tires mounted on mag wheels (with new TPMS valves), and four snow tires mounted on factory rims (with factory TPMS valves. The early ones (2006 and 2008) had to be retrained, but since then I haven't had any problems. I always rotate the tires when I install them and the TPMS worked fine.

This is a good reference for my future wheel modifications! Thanks!!
I mounted my snow tires today. I drove the ecosport for about 15 minutes. I got home checked to see the tire pressure on center display screen . It works I had to do NOTHING. It does shows slightly higher pressure than what is in the tires. I filled them to 34 psi they show 37 psi on dash center display BUT I did drive for 15 minutes maybe the pressure went up a little? I didnt recheck the pressure when I got home. No idea if it set the correct tire postion I would have to let air out of one tire and see but havent done so yet. There is a procedure in my owners manual after rotating tires to do that. Oh the TPM light never came on. I assume there is a TPM light like my last car had? Nothing on dash when I first started driving the car. I thought there might be a light for TPM when I first started driving. But no.

I ended up buying Continental VikingContact 7 snow tires.
