Swing gate opens every time I open one of the doors

For some reason, my swing gate has started unlocking and either opening completely or coming ajar every time I open one of the doors. I literally have to go back and push it shut to latch closed before driving off. Has anyone else had this issue or heard of this happening? It is getting pretty annoying.

Never heard of that. Have you tried to fix it?
Wow...that is a new one. I can understand it unlocking when you open a door. In fact, I think it is designed to do that, but the unlatching is a puzzler. As far as I know, there is no mechanism to remotely unlatch any door. The only thing I can think of is that perhaps there is a problem with the latch itself. Sometimes you can adjust the latching bar to better align with the latching mechanism if they are not aligned properly. Maybe as it is now, they are only barely aligned and the unlocking process is just enough to jiggle it unlatched.

I see a lot of Ecosports with a lot of miles on them, and they just keep going. Good to know.
This might sound silly but here goes. Has anyone had that one door in their house that opens when you either close or open another door in the room. Something to do with air pressure and some science stuff I don’t understand. I wonder if your swing gate latch isn’t wonky so when your opening one door it’s that’s same science magic that causing the gate to open.

Hi! I have a 2020 SES with a 59K odometer reading. And as a reply to your inquiry, "no" it does not open if I don't purposely open it.
It will completely unlatch sometimes to where you can just ease it open without touching the release. I am at a loss as to what causes it. but it is sure annoying.
I have no doubt that it is annoying. You might look at the latching mechanism in the swing gate itself. Perhaps its worn, needs lubricated or does not rotate enough to fully latch for some reason. I'm betting that's where the problem is.

Edit: I just checked mine. Not just the swing gate but all doors. The mechanism looks the same in all of them. One thing I noticed is I could see lubricant /white grease on all but the swing gate...so I lubricated mine. I have no idea if that is your problem, but if it looks dry like mine did, you might try that.

Second Edit: I just did a google search. I did not not find your problem, but I did find videos of swing gate latch problems on Eco Sports. Usually it had to do with a weak operating solenoid.

Here is one video showing this...

It seems to me that a bad solenoid might also cause your problem...then again what do I know....I'm not a mechanic. Still, I am a do it yourselfer and I bet this is your problem. The solenoid is not working properly and doesn't fully latch.

I don't know if I helped at all, but I tried....:) We Eco Sport owners need to stick together. There is not that many of us.

2919 Ford ecosport purchased new. With in the past 30 days the swing gate has unlocked by itself four times and the gate has slightly opened so that an alarm sounds and the message swing gate ajar shows on the dash. I then must pull over, open and shut the gate. I have went days with not opening the gate so there is no way I opened and failed to firmly shut the gate. I primarily drive on highways so rough roads are not a factor.
When mine does it I can't open the gate if it only unlocks to the first position I have to just push it closed but the latch will not work to open it. I can open it if I open the swing gate before any of the other doors but if I open one of the other 4 door first I cannot open the swing gate. I should take a video and upload it.

Did you find out why it does this? Mine comes open a little bit, like pinky width. I get the same message, swing door is ajar. I have to pull over unlock it to open it and shut it
Sounds like the solenoid is failing.
