Thanks BugzyWabbit. I had a sidewall blow out over nothing and wont go to far without a spare. I found your advice and read many other owners commits regarding this. the 2004 Ford Focus 16'' spare donut will safely clear the caliper and fits almost perfectly in the space in the back. Also scissor jack and wrench. 120 bucks. run flats are 900 bucks.
I contacted Speedway recyclers about this and Matt hooked me up and checked everything first. Highly recommend speedway recycling for getting a spare. very hard to find a 4 hole rim and this specific 17 inch tire size in a jam. Low profiles are too easy to have sidewall damage. Get the spare and jack,it fits snug and removes any worry travelling. Now I can spend money on lifting the vehicle or going with 16 inch rims.

After getting a two separate calls for help from my daughter-in-law when she gashed her tires, I decided to follow the advise from Bugzywabbit and Ecosportdude and find the 2002-2004 Focus SVT compact spare. It turned up about 80 miles from me. Picked it up along with the jack and 19mm lug wrench. I plan to get the T135/80R16 rubber.

I did try the jack and found the it is about 2" short of lifting the tires off the ground. I'll weld a couple lengths of 2" square tube to the bottom of the jack to correct the issue. I like the broader footprint for soft berms. It will still nest in the wheel when stowed. I may also opt for a 19mm spark plug socket and breaker bar since the fit on the lugs and additional leverage will be helpful. Until the welding is done, she gets one of my trolley jacks in a case.

I've picked up a SVT compact spare for my wifes Ecosport. I didn't like the idea of no spare tire. I still need to get a jack. I have a breaker bar with 19mm socket. So I'm wondering is there a reason to switch the tire to 135/80r16 or will the 125/85r16 be fine as it is only being used as a spare. TIA Steve

I went to a wrecking yard and bought a scissor Jack from a 2015 Ford Escape. Ecosport offers wheel diameter 16 and 17 inch.
The Ford Escape provides 17 and 18 inch wheels. The larger Jack will lift the Ecosport without running out of screw length.

I also bought a socket for distorted lug nut caps like on the Ecosport. This socket has a 19.5mm end that fits on the lug nuts. Found out about this from a Ford dealership. The 19mm socket won't fit even though the manual says to use it when changing a tire.

ok can someone give me a 100% or close to it that a "donut tire" from a base model Fiesta from the teens will work on late model Ecosport that has 16" tires. Because it will be hard to return if i buy a used one and have it shipped to me.:geek:

I purchased a 2011 - 2019 Ford Fiesta Spare Tire Compact Donut Wheel / Jack Kit T125/80D15 OEM for 189$ on Ebay. I tried it on my Ford Ecosport 2021 SE and it bits on the back tire. I drove the car in the parkinglot for a minute or so. the spare kit is a cheap piece of crap but it works. You need a 2" brick if you are going to use that jack wrench. It looks ustable at its highest point without a brick. I definately would not drive over 30 mph though. I do not not know if breaks will work well if you go to fast. For emergency purposes only.
I have read the Fiesta donut will only fit on back so you have to rotate in case of a emergency to front tire. I will try the front when i have time and post.
