Word has it that what you see in the photo below is none other than the next generation EcoSport. Ford was long over due on this given that the current model sold globally is based on an older platform. Biggest difference is the fact this time around we're getting a more hatch styled CUV. Is this the direction you guys were hoping for?

I included a poll as an easier way to see where everyone stands, don't forget to vote.

I'm glad that Ford is giving it a proper update/refresh but didnt expect them to go in the direction of the Active. Has there been mention of changes to the powertrain?

Ford has plans to launch a range of PHEV's and this should be one of them along with the fact it'll probably be one of 2 or 3 entry-level products for the brand.
I like the new body lines and look forward to seeing it without all the cladding. They will have to update the powertrain for this new model or at least add some new engine options.

I found this one rendering of it that resembles the Mazda CX-3.
As more vehicles come out in this segment they seem to model after what Mazda did, which to me is a great move, a far cry from the boxier Ford utility vehicles we used to have.

If that ends up being the new look I think it will do a lot for buyer interest. With so many crossovers to choose from now, Ford recognizes that simple updates wont be enough for them to stay relevant.
I prefer the boxier SUVs of old.

The industry knows that and now wants you to pay a premium to have "real" SUV's. Now its limited to models like the Mercedes G-Wagon. Then you get off shoots like the Toyota FJ. Aside from that real SUV's are few and far between for the average joe. Would you buy used?? FJ's are sort of on my bucket list.
