Searching for a subcompact

Hey guys,

New to the forum and weighing out my huge array of options in the subcompact class. There are just so many choices to choose between, so I'm happy to have stumbled upon this forum. I've never owned a Ford vehicle in the past, and I'm seeing pretty mixed reviews online. So I'm here to see what you guys have to say about the car and decide whether or not its a worthy candidate.

Well I own a 2017 Honda HR-V. Great car an reasonably good Fuel Economy. Trading in my 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid for a 2018 Ford EcoSport in "S" Trim. 21K, about the same price as a Base Model Honda HR-V. I`ve always been partial to Ford`s so I will give this new entry into the Mini- CUV Club. EPA Fuel Economy estimates are a bit concerning. 27MPG City and 29 Highway? A Ford Focus with the identical 3 Cyl Engine an same Auto Transmission gets far better an they both weigh about the same at 3000 lb?
You'll have to let me know what your first impressions are of the CUV when you get it. As I've never owned a Ford before it's good to see that there are loyalists who stand by them. Im not sure why there would be such a difference in fuel economy from the Focus. Are current drivers on here reporting the same figures?

You might as well start looking at all the new Fords you can at dealerships near you because with models out like the Fiesta, Escape and even the upcoming Edge, odds are you will have a level of perspective that even some sales people don't. Have you seen any new Fords up close in person yet?
I definitely have been keeping my eye on the upcoming Edge ST. And, no as of yet I haven't had an in person look at Fords current lineup, a good suggestion. I know Fords build quality has improved dramatically from the past, which is why I'm considering a switch. I have seen online that some suggest its power offering isn't quite substantial enough when carrying passengers and cargo. Have people on here found that to be true?

Part of that depends on what you need out of a vehicle as a driver because not everyone will see it the same way. Often I find that people coming from more powerful vehicles find this to be an issue with any smaller vehicle they go for.
