Roof rack for Kayak

I think manufacturers think that no one ever uses a roof rack, so why bother with a good design. I researched this BEFORE I bought the Eco. Also Micks Garage In Ireland sells there own design BUT the bars they sold were just to short. Rhino is fairly well known in the USA. Not like Thule or Yakima though. Yakima does sell a clip on roof rack BUT I dont think it will work if you have the factory rails which all but the base model have them in the USA.

They could design a clip on that fits with the factory roof rails but so far no one has. UNLESS what your talking about is?? Have a link to what YOU bought?

NOW I did NOT buy this whole KIT as the bars are shorter than what I wanted BUT used the fit kit and Feet in the package and got my own longer bars locally. You can buy the parts separately if you contact the seller.

They sell both square bars and aero type bar kits but again the bars are shorter than what I wanted.

Since my setup is only rated for 100 pounds I can only put up one kayak as mine weigh about 60 pounds each.
The clip on Yakima sells can take over 160 pounds which if it would fit I would get that instead. I dont often put up two boats but would like the ability to do so. I guess we are the only two boaters that have Ecosports.

I have seen the ones sold on Amazon which bolt between the factory rails BUT I need longer bars.

I bought the Ecosport because of the 6500 dollar rebate and got a killer deal same price as a Honda Fit.
If I cant transport boats the vehicle is worthless to me.

I got a 2018 Ecosport last year and never imagined the hoops required to get a roof rack for it. I already had a SportRack roof rack that would've attached to standard roof rails, or above the door frame. Ford has their own roof rack accessory for the Ecosport but I couldn't find it available anywhere around me, or online. I ended up getting on on AliExpress for $150. Took 5 months to arrive.

So far it's been fine, hauled canoes, lumber, a couch, fence posts, etc. It's a silly design though the way it attaches to the rails and then needs to be adjusted with allen keys. I did have two screws come loose, one went missing. The other hasn't been a problem since.

This is the first I've heard of Rhino. Most roof racks are a simple, tried and true systems; Thule, the biggest roof rack manufacturer doesn't have any options that fit an Ecosport with rails. No idea what the designers were thinking making this piece more expensive and more complicated for the end user.
