I just bought my wife a 2020 Ecosport Titanium so I joined this forum. So far I'm a little disappointed. Just about all the entries are at least 2 years old. This is similar to the Ford Edge forum I'm on. Their just doesn't seem to be much current interest in participating. I got really spoiled when I bought my 2014 Escape Titanium. The Escape forum was really active. It was fun exchanging ideas and opinions with other members. Hopefully the interest in the Ecosport will increase, the forum membership will get larger, and the forum will get more active.

yeah... hopefully someday this will turn in to a useful place to visit. I'm part of a Ford Escape community that is very vibrant. Here, I just check in every week or two just to see if there is anything new.

Mike,

I am a fairly new member as well. I am looking at purchasing a use ECOSPORT 4WD. I don't much about the 4WD drive train itself. But, I am learning. slowly. I am also looking at the Chev Trax and the Buick Encore, which are the same. And a Honda HRV. So any help anyone can provide would be helpful on the ECOSPORT.

Thanks, R
I bought my 2018 Ecosport SES about 16 months ago, and joined this forum thereafter.

There is one thread on here that has helped me immensely - the thread on the trailer wiring.

Many of us saw "Trailer Tow Prep Wiring" on the window sticker when we shopped/purchased our Ecosport - then later discovered this was completely false. [boo on Ford for this]. Folks that took their Ecosport to the Ford dealer to have the vehicle fitted for trailer towing were told it wasn't available...or wasn't possible...or was ridiculously expensive...or even that the dealer had no clue how to do this! [if you read through the thread, you'll see the saga]. Anyways, thanks to a member of this forum, an aftermarket solution was found which works. More recently, I see someone posted that there is now a Ford OEM module which will also work (though with some wiring modifications). If it wasn't for this forum, I would never have figured out how to get my Ecosport set up to tow a trailer.

We've had our '18 for 30 K miles so far... no issues at all. Has not been back to the dealer as I do my own work. Oil changes, tire rotations, basic stuff. Recently changed the air filter and PTU oil.

The biggest annoyance is the auto shutoff... you have to disengage it each time you start the car as it doesn't save your preferred setting.

Fuel economy has been underwhelming for a 2L-4 cylinder at 27 combined. My 18 year old CTS with a 3.2L-V6 gets better mileage.
