Bought a new 2019 Ecosport after putting 160k+ on a 2012 Fiesta as a daily driver. The Fiesta is still going strong, so I thought the SUV version would be a logical next purchase.
So far, I like the little car. It is a base model, 1L 3cyl Ecoboost, Auto, FWD, cloth interior, black on gray. The 3 banger has never lived up to the mileage hype, it is too weak, has to work all the time, but 27 and change MPG is not a huge disappointment.
I have just over 70k showing on the odometer and I am starting to think about things that could go wrong. So, hopefully this group will help me keep my car going and going and going.
I have a few complaints, first I think a hatch opening up would have been more functional, second, there are routine glitches in the entertainment center, like failing to boot. But, my biggest complaint is the fact that the AC system has a mind of it's own. It turns the recirculation air off without my permission. I have it closed to keep from pulling in diesel exhaust in traffic and the car opens the air intake without my permission. Frustrating! I would love to have a conversation with the person that designed that. My car, I'm making the payments, I should get to decide where the air comes from. I imagine there will be a lot of blend door actuators replaced on the air inlet door.
But, overall a good car. Fun to drive, feels more like a go cart, and it is kinda cute. Not gonna rival my Mustang GT for looks or speed, not gonna out work my Explorer, but I like it as an economical daily driver.
