I have a 2018 Ecosport SE that needs brakes. When trying the first rear wheel, and removing the brake hardware and brake pads, I was unable to compress the brakepad cylinder. I have the compressor tool, and it still would not budge. So I put the whole thing back together and I'm stuck with no brakes still.
Am I missing a step? A neighbor told me to open the break fluid container in the engine bay, but I have not done so yet. I do not wish to take the whole thing apart again unless/until I have a clear process to follow. I checked YouTube, and no one mentions the brake fluid container. The hand brake works, it tightens the cylinder. I could not find an easy wy to loosen the hand brake in case that is the culprit.
Any and all ideas will be welcome

you need a tool that both twists and pushes the caliper piston in at the same time. Here is a link for one on Amazon. I believe I have the same one and it works on my eco... I have also managed to do it with a large pair of channel lock plyers, but you have too be EXTREMELY CAREFUL not to damage the boot on the piston, or you will be replacing the caliper. it is best to use the correct tool..... (I was in a pinch)
