I need help. I installed Led bulbs in the tail/brake lights. Everything on the outside works great. The problem is the turn signal indicators on the dash hyper flash. They only do it when I step on the brake and the bulbs themselves are working correctly. Could this be bad bulbs? If not is there a easy way to correct this? Is there a flasher made to correct this. I really don't want to splice resistors in the wiring harness unless I have to.
I am running LED brake lamp and turn signal bulbs in my Ecosport. This is normal behavior. It's actually pretty clever.
Lets say, for instance, that you never did anything to your tail/brake light bulbs, and left them completely stock. Then, one night your driver side brake lamp burns out. Ford has it set to hyperflash the turn signal indicator in the dash on that side to alert you that there is a problem. The turn signals on the outside don't hyperflash, but the green light in the dash does.
When I put all LEDs in the back of my Ecosport, I had the exact same behavior you are describing out of yours. Luckily, I knew a guy who had ForScan and was able to have him disable the hyperflash in the instrument cluster.
