I would imagine that there are either fastener tabs or screws somewhere that need to be removed first. This is from a 2013 manual but it's probably fairly similar.

Glove box fuse box
Hi I have a 2016 ford ecosport titanium 1.5 TDCI the fuse has blown for the reversing light , have followed instructions in the owners manual but still can't remove the the glove box can anyone help me please .thanks.

Great guide posted above. Sometimes its just a matter of being familiar with how a certain car maker fastens panels, thus allowing you to better remove stuff without breaking them.
