I purchased a few Ford Premium Extended Warranty Plans at very inflated prices from my local dealer until I learned that I could purchase the plans from any dealer in the country and there are some that offer quite favorable rates compared to what you might be offered.

On the Ecosport my daughter recently purchased, our local offer of about $2600 for an 8 year/75K plan ended up costing $1444 from Lombard Ford. Another good place to get an online quote is Flood Ford, though the last time I checked, Flood Ford's website hadn't been updated to include the Ecosport. Anyways, both Lombard and Flood Ford are good places to get quotes from before you purchase a plan.

I don't know where either of those dealerships are located, but when I was in NJ recently I saw a Ford on the road that had a Flood Ford decal on it.

another reason for checking reviews of dealerships on google review or even Yelp.
sometimes I think folks forget that dealerships still operate independently and thus offer the same things, when they really don't.

Appreciate the insight on this, will definitely be shopping around before making a decision. Not quite sure why the price can vary so much depending on just location. Maybe it depends on whether its a high or low volume dealership?

When I asked my salesman why my dealership was charging so much more for the extended plans, he said that larger dealerships with high volume are allowed to charge less... so my smaller dealer just can't compete.
