Ford India Offering Discounts

From what I'm reading on NDTV, Ford India is offering up to Rs 30,000 (around 464.83 USD) for the EcoSport, Aspire and Figo. Now may be a good time for buyers in India to get one of these cars from Ford even if it doesn't look like much once converted. It's still something and you can add that to the haggled down price. :D

Not much but on vehicles like this, a little goes a long way and you could potentially utilize the saved money for an extra accessory or at least a chunk of an extra accessory. People love any type of incentive or discount they can get so heck, it works!
I doubt that's going to do much for getting buyers in but what will do more for them is free maintenance. Knowing you can buy a vehicle and have reduced operating costs for x amount of years sure is attractive.
Yea because you can easily see how much it'll add up to. But we live in an age where discounts and incentives are everything. Nobody wants to pay MSRP and if they can get something off, especially with something in such an affordable segment marketed towards people that don't really have all that much money, it'll draw in a decent amount. Enough to obviously make it worth it for them.
What's interesting about the India release is how buyers can pre-book one on Amazon. I know one or two luxury brands that are doing something similar, but didn't think Ford would do it for an affordable model. This could be the future of vehicle purchasing for Ford, maybe we will be able to buy the next gen EcoSport online as well.

I think that will be the case for a lot of entry level vehicles because its easier to get these out for pre-showings and overall easier to convince people to get these - in addition its easy to find another buyer if one backs out. After all these will be sitting on Ford lots pre-configured and ready to find a home.
Ford could stand to advertise the Ecosport better as well on top of making purchase easier for customers. They aren't exactly drumming up a lot of interested because it has been pretty quiet for a while and no new ads have come out as far as I know.

Not always when they do marketing campaigns you see them making it obvious as to what is happening, if is small scale enough then you might not hear about it. Often I see car makers showing up to small local events or malls for demonstrations which you never see about online. In a situation like this dealers would probably be the only source for information.

Agree. I think a lot of EcoSport's marketing stuff passing us by just because it's targeted on a different part of the world. I'm more than sure, that in India EcoSport is more popular than in any other country because of different marketing tools like billboards, events, commercials etc.

Not just different parts of the world but part of it is timing and location. Ford might be finding more value in reaching out to people 1-on-1 right now compared to just having aggressive ad campaigns. Launching a new model isn't easy. Hopefully we see some of that 1-on-1 marketing show up online.
What do you mean by 1-on-1 marketing?

I don't remember seeing any 1-on-1 marketing in the automotive market. Usually, car makers are trying to get every single person involved in their new product by launching some kind of viral commercials.
1-on-1 meaning marketing that gets more personal and detailed rather than painting with broad strokes which still works, but never is one tactic going to work. Its why you see brands and companies using a number of different marketing methods from the smallest and micro-market focused to broad and obvious.
