One of my kids left the backlight on overnight. The battery was completely dead by morning.

I jumped the car and was on my the way. It entered the engine safe mode. With the pedal to the ground it topped off at 60 MPH and I could not accelerate. When I got home I reset all the codes with my scanner.

The car drives fine now. However, now my AC will not blow, my blinkers do not work, my power windows will not move, and occasionally the coolant temp gauge stops working. To make it more bizarre when I push the button and turn the car on without starting the engine, the AC, blinkers, power windows, and coolant gauge work as normal. Just when I start the engine, they stop working.

The issue is fixed.

I disconnected the battery. I connected metal clips to disconnected wires to drain any residue current. I used my voltmeter to measure the volts until it reached zero.

Surprisingly, it took several hours to reach 0. Usually mechanics advise you only need to disconnect for 10 minutes or so. When there is no residue current left your cars computer system is reset to factory default.

When I reconnected the battery, everything worked and functioned 100 percent. Additionally, my car sounds better than ever.

My vehicle was in a fender bender last summer. The AC after the accident would only blow cool not cold. The auto shop could not find anything wrong. It blows ice cold now.
