EcoSport Breakaway Competition

Ford South Africa held a competition where 5 all expenses paid ‘Break Away Experiences’ were being given away. It includes the use of an EcoSport for a weekend, accommodation and meals/drinks for two days and one night for two people, fully mapped out ‘Break Away’ tour.

This seems like a better way to market the Ecosport than the hipster strategy. Makes me crave adventure all the more even if the cars used aren't the newest model. Something Ford everywhere else can learn from.

Smart move as long as they're pushing these Ad's to people who live in the City because getting away from the city is what most are always thinking. Ask anyone who spends most time in the city.

This also helps in showing practicality, a universal need regardless of what type of owner you are.
This is a great idea for Ford to do in other countries too, find some roads less traveled by and show potential buyers where they can take the EcoSport close to home. Seeing this series makes me want to travel to South Africa and rent an EcoSport for a weekend even though there are plenty of scenic drives near me.

But seeing the potential locations is more appealing than me looking at Google maps.
This is the kind of advertisements that are really going to appeal to people.. not Guardians of the Galaxy.

They made these advertisements relate-able to so many peoples desires, dreams, and just perhaps what they've been through and missed.

Heck, I'm a constant city type of guy and I've always wanted to go out and do things like this and this appeals to me so much.
Ford U.S. should hire the marketing guy for their South Africa branch because they're spot on with what appeals to the EcoSposrt demographic. Maybe we're the minority, but it seems miles better than that movie partnership or those small concert events.

Not South Africa geographically, I meant the concept that their marketing division went with. Maybe some will see the Hollywood type ad and be moved to buy the Ecosport, but the breakaway type of advertisement appeals to me more.
As it does to me as well. You can take any vehicle and really make a hollywood type of ad out of it and it'll be alright. Just generic.

The breakaway ads are definitely not generic and geared to reach out to you and really make you think.
If anyone here follows some of the well known vloggers out there on YouTube and even Instagram don't be surprised if one day you see the EcoSport being shown off. Seen it before and it will only continue to happen. This is the new way to do product placements.
It might, but giving it to one of the really well known ones would definitely look funny considering all of these young vloggers are all driving in ridiculously expensive vehicles. So to see them try and talk up the Ecosport, their fan base is going to know it's just a shameless plug lol

....and that's where a narrow thought process shuts this whole idea down, no logical person would start their.

Give it some thought and consider the type of vlogger and following they would plug this with ;)
