Cabin filter 2018 (US)

I’m not sure why ford put the cabin air filter under the center console but it’s there and I’m trying to get to it. There’s a bolt on the bottom right to take the side paneling off from the interior footwell. How do you get it disconnected from the gear box area????

You have to pull the panels off the top. It's a PITA, but doable. My other car is a Fiesta, and it sucks, too.

That's INSANE. Being in the boat business, I've seen some crazy design decisions, but this is right up there with some of the craziest.

It's the same for the Escape, but only the one panel in front of it needs to be removed.
