APIM module fried

Has anyone else had an issue with their APIM module going bad? I have a 2019 Ecosport and the radio, aux ports, and back up camera stopped working. I took it to the Ford dealer that my son works at and they put it on the code reader. Turns out the APIM module is bad and needs replaced. When they looked up the part for pricing, it apparently has the worlds most expensive module in it and the replacement is $3,000! I, obviously, refused the replacement and am now stuck with no radio or any of the other things that the screen does along with no backup camera. I called Ford and reported the issue and basically was told tough luck and cross Your fingers for a recall.
