Our friends from India have posted a review of 2018 Ford Ecosport called "All you need to know". They went through all new main aspects of EcoSport (Exterior design, interior, price, and competition) and discussed the "all-new petrol engine".
My question is why EcoSport is so popular in India? All recent updates come from there.

Not quite sure, but there seems to be an increasing interest over there for crossovers. All the better for everyone, with more cars being sold Ford will have more money for future model developments.

Though why the huge interest in the EcoSport I do not know. Maybe because of how it's designed for younger buyers.

I think I found the answer. Here is EcoSport's competition in India: Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.Sounds familiar? I don't think so.
I guess there is no competition for the brand like Ford in India because its main rivals are Tata (Never heard of this brand before) and Suzuki, both car makers aren't the strongest market players and of course, people always want to buy a well-known brand.

They perceive Ford how north Americans perceive emerging european brands that have a long history elsewhere which is positive. So for Ford this is a very easy game to play, just a matter of offering the Eco Sport in a market where it resonates with buyers the most.

Tata is a homegrown India company. It's probably the biggest supplier of cars, suv, trucks, buses in India. They also make agricultural tractors, fork lifts, etc.
